General/Business Aviation

General & Business Aviation (GA/BA) encompasses non-scheduled private transport services that are distinct from commercial air transport operations. This category includes a range of flight activities, such as the operation of company-owned aircraft, self-flown operations for business purposes, personal/private transport, and recreational flight operations.


It is important to note that Slot Coordination is necessary for GA/BA operations at Level-3 coordinated airports. To request slots for GA/BA operations, please adhere to the General Aviation Clearance Request (GCR) format messages. These messages should be sent to the designated SCR email address, which can be found in Contact IASC.

1) GCR messages do not have a season indicator in the header.

2) GCR messages only use ICAO codes for aircraft and airports(No IATA codes).

3) GCR messages use /REG or /FLT as reference to indicate use of registration or a flight number.

4) GCR messages are written in UTC, single day format(No periods of operation), and therefore no overnight indicators allowed for GCR messages.

5) GCR messages are only written in CAPITALS and English.

GCR messages consist of 3 main components: 1) Header, 2) Flight Details and 3) Footer.

[How to Write Header]

GCR : Type of request, stands for General aviation Clearance Request

/FLT : Indicates whether the aircraft operator uses a flight number or the aircraft registration.

           /FLT = Slot request using a flight designator(IATA or ICAO) plus flight number(nnn or nnnn)

           /REG = Slot request using aircraft registration

RKSI : ICAO code of coordinated airport at which slots are being requested

- Action Code : Type of actions GCR sender intends to take, always comes at the beginning of the line

- Flight Number or Registration : For flight number, maximum 7 letters allowed

- Date of Operation : Single date only, must be in UTC

- Number of Seats and Aircraft Type : Number of seats in 3 digits and aircraft type in ICAO code

- Routing and Flight Time : Last/next destinations and arrival/departure time in UTC

- Type of Flight : Type of flights GCR sender intends to operate

Use of Spaces
- Each component is separated by a space, with the exception of arrivals(see the below instruction)
- These three pairs of information "Date&Month, Seats&Aircraft Type, Routing&Time" are not separated by a space.
